This website is devoted to issues confronting Christian school libraries. It arose out of an unsupervised independent study by a Masters student in Library and Information Scence at Simmons College, Boston, Massachusetts. The testing ground, then and now , is a small Christian school in urban Massachusetts. The author did not concentrate her graduate studies in school librarianship, but in academic libraries. And it is from this more scholarly angle that she approaches the issues. She hopes this project serves to encourage more inquiry into this uncharted area of scholarship. As a subject, it is invisible in both professional library and education journals - making it an invitng area for new scholars and seasoned academics.
The issues addressed do not only apply to Chrisitian schools but any school that needs to build a library from zero with zero. Many of the issues facing underfunded religous schools also face public charter schools.
